ProQM’s inspectors are all accredited by NATA for precast, and our scope of accreditation covers the VicRoads requirements.
When the precast supplier is awarded the contract to supply the precast, ProQM is engaged to firstly review their quality management system and ensure that their traceability and Manufacturer’s Data Record (MDR) are populated according to the project requirements. From there, shop drawings and concrete mix designs are reviewed and approved, and an inspection schedule is generated based on the program.
ProQM gives a pre-pour inspection as per Technical Bulletin 47 (TB47), which covers the stressing of pre-stressed elements and ensures all the reinforcement and casting items are as per the design and meet Australian Standards. Post-pour inspections are also completed to ensure components are acceptable for delivery to their relevant project.
Our inspections of precast concrete involve multiple tests to check the quality of the ingredients before the concrete reaches construction site installation. Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Testers and radiographic testing are also used to test the concrete’s homogeneity and identify any voids, cracks, or other internal defects that may be present. Upon ensuring that the concrete mix used is up to standard, inspectors will check that the proper formwork is used to pour the concrete followed by reinforcing and protecting the finished concrete.
Elements that are inspected by ProQM for various projects include pre-stressed super-T beams, pre-stressed L-beams, crossheads, columns, barriers, parapets, match casting, and various other specific elements for various infrastructure projects across Victoria.

Over our time, working for some of the largest construction companies in Australia, as quality professionals, we constantly see small quality assurance departments expending their valuable staff members to visit their suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with their project requirements, quite often leaving a hole within their team..
We believe that outsourcing these requirements to a company that has the expertise and knowledge, works efficiently and effectively and shares the same goals and values that you do, will enable your team to continue to focus on their roles within your company’s scope of work. We are committed to impartiality in carrying out all activities especially during inspections, proactively managing potential conflicts of interest and ensuring objectivity. Impartiality, confidentiality and independence are fundamental values within our business.
ProQM is passionate about our support and culture, and want to share our vision with you.
At the end of the day, Quality Inspections and Quality Control will save you money.
